Iran responds to US attack warning, threatens to target power grid

Tehran: Iran’s security chief, Ali Larijani, threatened Thursday to target the region’s power grid if the US attacked the Islamic Republic’s electricity supply.
“If they do that, the entire region will be plunged into darkness in less than half an hour, providing ample opportunity to hunt down American soldiers fleeing for safety in the darkness,” Larijani said in a post on X.
US President Donald Trump had said that the US military could cut off Iran’s power supply “within an hour” – potentially taking the country a generation to rebuild.
