Injured Kuldeep Yadav got advice for rest

New Delhi: Kuldeep Yadav is currently suffering from a groin injury, due to which he could not play the last two matches for Delhi Capitals. ESPN Cricinfo has learned that Kuldeep has been advised rest but there is no update yet on his return.

Delhi has to play its next match against Mumbai Indians on 7 April. Kuldeep’s injury is probably not that serious and he is also traveling with the team. Kuldeep played the first two matches against Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings and took three wickets. However, he could not play the next two matches against Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders in Visakhapatnam.

Indian selectors will also keep an eye on Kuldeep’s injury as he is a strong contender for the spin slot of the Indian team in the upcoming T20 World Cup. Kuldeep had an excellent performance in the home Test series against England before entering this season of IPL. Kuldeep got a chance to play from the second match of the five-Test series and he took a total of 19 wickets, which also included his match turning spells. After playing the match on Sunday, Delhi has to play its next match against Lucknow Super Giants on 12th April.
