Industrialists should come forward to ensure the safety of workers
Punjab: To ensure the safety of their workers, industrialists here have arranged for three Bolero security cars for night patrolling in Focal Point and Gadaipur areas. The reason behind this arrangement is being said to be the frequent incidents of robbery and snatching at night.
The industrialists have also deployed an ambulance with all medical facilities like beds, oxygen cylinders and medicines. If any untoward incident happens to someone in a factory, a security guard falls ill or someone’s child needs medical help, then an ambulance will prove helpful. Phone numbers of bouncers will be pasted outside every factory and people will be able to call these numbers and ambulances will reach them within minutes.
“This is a service we have provided to our people. This is the first time that an ambulance has been deployed in this manner. We had started patrolling so that our factory workers could feel safe as many crime incidents were happening,” said industrialist Narinder Singh Sahu.
Explaining further, he said that the ambulance will have four bouncers, two of whom will have knowledge of providing first aid.
“We want our colleagues and workers who work hard all day to have a good and safe sleep at night,” he said.
It is noteworthy that factory workers in these industrial areas had started feeling unsafe because miscreants used to rob and attack them while going home. Therefore, taking this seriously, industrialists took the initiative to ensure their safety with security cars patrolling these areas. The cars were flagged off on February 3 at the Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) office at Focal Point.
