Indore: A fine of Rs 1 lakh imposed on a divorced woman for harassing her ex-husband

Indore: Judge Subodh Abhyankar of Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court, while giving an important decision, has imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on a divorced woman. Justice Abhyankar’s bench said in the order that the woman is harassing her ex-husband by abusing the legal process. This order of payment of Rs 1 lakh is to warn unethical litigants so that they do not throw clouds in the eyes of the courts.
Justice Abhyankar said, serious cases should be heard in the courts, hence their precious time cannot be allowed to be wasted in any way. The woman violated the terms of the consensual divorce and reopened the case against her ex-husband and his elderly parents for dowry harassment, assault and abortion against the woman’s wishes.
