Indore: A few days after attempting suicide, the young man died in the hospital

Madhya Pradesh : A 25-year-old man died at a city hospital a few days after he allegedly attempted suicide at his house in Banganga area, police said on Wednesday. The deceased Kanha Goswami had reportedly married against the wishes of his family last month. Statements of his family members are being recorded to ascertain the reason for the suicide attempt.

Banganga police station in-charge Siyaram Singh Gurjar told Free Press that Goswami was undergoing treatment after his alleged suicide attempt was foiled by a family member four days ago.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Goswami was employed in a readymade garment company. In April, he married a woman working in the same company. His wife’s family had reportedly called him home a few days ago. When Goswami went there to bring his wife back, her family argued with him and thrashed him.

Goswami allegedly attempted suicide soon after reaching home. One of his family members managed to save him. No suicide note was recovered from the spot then. Meanwhile, the police are investigating the post-mortem report.
