India’s strong objection to the attack in the Gulf of Oman, Jaishankar raised the issue with the US Secretary of State
Delhi Delhi: India’s Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar raised the issue of the US military attack on a commercial ship in the Gulf of Oman during a phone conversation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Saturday. Three Indian sailors were killed in this attack, on which India has expressed serious objection.
Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar is currently on a tour of Europe, from where he spoke to the US Secretary of State over telephone. In this conversation he clearly expressed concern and protest over the death of Indian citizens.
Jaishankar, while sharing the information on social media platforms, said that he spoke in detail to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. He said that during the talks he reiterated India’s serious objection to the death of three Indian sailors in US Navy action in the Gulf region.
According to the External Affairs Minister, India is deeply concerned about this incident and gives top priority to the safety of its citizens. He strongly raised this issue with the American side and said that clarity and accountability on such incidents is necessary.
This case is related to the military attack in the Gulf of Oman in which a commercial ship was targeted. Three Indian sailors died during this incident, causing an atmosphere of mourning and concern in India.
