India-West Indies T-20 today, traffic will be changed around Ekana Stadium

Lucknow. A T-20 match will be played between India and West Indies on Tuesday, October 6 in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. This match will be held at Ekana Stadium. A large number of cricket fans are likely to reach the city for the match. Keeping this in mind, Lucknow Traffic Police has implemented special traffic arrangements. Several changes have been made to control vehicular pressure on Shaheed Path and surrounding areas during the match.
According to the traffic police, the traffic arrangement on Shaheed Path will remain changed from 3 pm on Tuesday till the end of the match. During this period, there will be a ban on operation of big vehicles, commercial vehicles and roadways buses. These vehicles will not be allowed to pass through Shaheed Path. Such vehicles will have to use alternative routes.
There is excitement among the spectators about the T-20 match between India and West Indies to be held at Ekana Stadium. A large number of people are expected to reach the stadium to watch the match. In such a situation, the pressure of vehicles on the roads leading to Shaheed Path and Ekana Stadium may increase from noon onwards. The traffic police has made arrangements in advance to deal with possible crowd and jam situations.
DCP Traffic Raveena Tyagi has appealed to the spectators and other motorists to avoid passing through Shaheed Path during the match. He has asked people that those drivers who do not want to go to Ekana Stadium should use other alternative routes. This will reduce disruption to both spectators and general traffic going to the stadium.
The traffic police has also changed the no entry timings applicable for large vehicles. Normally there is no entry for big vehicles till 11 pm, but due to the match on Tuesday, this restriction will remain in effect till the end of the match. This means that if the match continues for a long time then even big vehicles will have to wait till the match is over to enter Shaheed Path.
Shaheed Path is included in the important routes of the capital Lucknow. A large number of small and big vehicles pass through this route every day. Ekana Stadium is also located near this route. During any big event or match, the traffic pressure here increases significantly compared to normal days. For this reason, the traffic police has decided to keep big and commercial vehicles away from this route.
There will also be a ban on operation of roadways buses during the match. Roadways buses carrying passengers will be taken through prescribed alternative routes instead of Shaheed Path. This will make it easier for the vehicles of spectators coming to watch cricket matches to reach the stadium and the possibility of jam on the main road will be reduced.
After 3 pm, the movement of spectators towards Ekana Stadium may increase rapidly. In such a situation, the traffic police has advised people to start their journey on time and leave keeping in mind the possible traffic changes. Those going to watch the match will also have to follow the instructions of the traffic policemen deployed at the spot.
Even after the match is over, there may be vehicular pressure around the stadium for some time, because a large number of spectators will come out together. This is the reason why no entry of big vehicles has been extended till the end of the match instead of 11 pm. This will prevent problems caused by movement of heavy vehicles during evacuation of spectators.
The priority of the traffic police is to maintain smooth traffic during the match. Police have clarified that drivers should not try to enter the restricted routes in a hurry and should use alternative routes. Traffic personnel will also be present on the spot to direct the vehicles.
In view of the T-20 match to be held between India and West Indies, people traveling on the Shaheed Path on Tuesday will have to take special caution. Due to the traffic arrangements that will be in place from 3 pm till the end of the match, many drivers will have to change their routes.
In such a situation, Lucknow Traffic Police has appealed to the city residents for cooperation. Especially those people who do not want to go to Ekana Stadium to watch the match have been asked to avoid Shaheed Path and use other routes. This will reduce the traffic pressure during the match and will also make it easier for the spectators to reach the stadium.
