Delhi: The much-awaited India Energy Week is set to begin this Tuesday at Yashobhoomi in the national capital. Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri will address a press conference on Monday afternoon where he is expected to share detailed information about this landmark annual energy event of India.
IEW 2025, to be held on February 11-14, 2025, promises unprecedented global participation of ministers, CEOs and industry leaders. This will be the third edition.
Building on the success of the last two editions, IEW 2025 is set to consolidate its position as a key meeting venue for the global energy industry.
The exhibition space will grow by 65 per cent to 28,000 square metres, while the number of conference sessions will increase to 105 and the number of global delegates will exceed 70,000.India Energy Week (IEW) will be attended by energy ministers from over 20 countries, including advanced economies, the largest energy producers and countries from the global south.
Ahead of India Energy Week 2025, global commodity information services provider S&P Global Commodity Insights said India’s refined crude oil demand will peak later than other major economies, putting the country in the spotlight for driving this demand.
In a note, S&P Global Commodity Insights said alternative fuels are gradually shifting energy consumption patterns away from fossil fuels, but fossil fuel use will remain significant in the near future.
India depends on imports for more than 80 per cent of its crude oil requirement. Several steps have been taken by the government to increase domestic crude oil production and reduce imports.
Further, with rising demand and limited new domestic reserves, dependence on liquefied natural gas (LNG) imports is expected to increase.
