Independent candidate escaped from police custody, SDM slapping incident
Rajasthan. The independent candidate Naresh Meena, who slapped the SDM during voting on the Deoli-Uniyara seat of Tonk district, was arrested by the police. Naresh Meena’s supporters created a ruckus over his arrest, pelted stones and also set two police vehicles on fire. Now it is being told that Naresh Meena has escaped from police custody.
In fact, independent candidate Naresh Meena had staged a sit-in in Samravata village of Tonk district, which led to a ruckus and then stone pelting and arson. After this, the police brought the situation under control by lathi charge. Voting was held on Wednesday on seven assembly seats of the state. Meanwhile, independent candidate Naresh Meena slapped the SDM on the Deoli Uniara seat, after which the ruckus started and then after the arrest, the supporters became more violent. During this, there was also a clash with the police.
Voting was held on November 13 for 7 assembly seats in Rajasthan – Jhunjhunu, Dausa, Deoli-Uniyara, Khinvsar, Chaurasi, Salumbhar and Ramgarh. Its results will be declared on November 23. Of the seven seats in the state on which by-elections were held, four were with the Congress and one each with BJP, BAP and RLP. By-elections on two seats are being held due to the death of sitting MLAs – Congress’s Zubair Khan (Ramgarh) and BJP’s Amritlal Meena (Salumbhar).
