Raipur: Independence Day was celebrated with enthusiasm, zeal and gaiety in the Legislative Assembly Secretariat. In the Legislative Assembly premises, Secretary of the Legislative Assembly, Mr. Dinesh Sharma hoisted the flag at 8.30 am and took the salute of the parade. After the flag hoisting, the Secretary read out the message of the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Dr. Raman Singh, for the officers and employees of the Secretariat.

In his message, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Dr. Raman Singh said that today’s auspicious day is a day to remember our countless freedom fighters, to take inspiration from their personality and deeds and for us countrymen to introspect.

We should think about how alert and dedicated we are towards fulfilling our national responsibilities. He said that in fact today is a day to salute the martyrdom of those countless martyrs on whose sacrifice the building of independent India was built. He appealed to the people of the state that we all will ensure meaningful, positive initiatives in realizing the dream of a prosperous, strong India through our work, thoughts and behavior. He requested everyone to contribute to the ambitious resolution of taking the glorious story of Indian independence to the new generation through their personal efforts. On the occasion of Independence Day, the entire Vidhan Sabha premises have been beautifully illuminated.
