In a major operation in Udalguri, Assam, police have arrested six accused

Udalguri: Assam’s Udalguri district police recovered 23 stolen cattle, seized three vehicles, and arrested six people in a district-wide operation against cattle thieves.

The operation was led by SDPO Bhergaon, Vincent Soilemthang Vaiphei, and involved joint action by police teams from Udalguri, Panery, Rowta, Orang, Mazbat, and Dimakuchi police stations, with support from personnel of the Lalpool Outpost.

Based on specific intelligence inputs, the teams carried out simultaneous raids at several locations across the district, disrupting an organised cattle theft network operating in the area.

Police identified the arrested persons as Monglo Dhara, Ajay Munda, and Bahadur Munda of Garuajhar; Majibur Rahman of Chikon Mati; Kitap Ali; and Samar Ali of Mohanpur.

All six were produced before the Udalguri district court, which remanded them to judicial custody
