Impact of strike on hospitals, OPD closed, patients troubled
Raipur: Protests of junior doctors from all over the country are continuing regarding the Kolkata case. Due to the strike, the condition of health services in most government hospitals has started deteriorating. While there are queues of patients for treatment, their families are also getting upset. In such a situation, OPD will remain closed in civil hospitals. Due to which patients will have to face problems.
It was told that, in protest against the incident in Kolkata, it has been announced to keep non-emergency services closed. It was also told that, all services except emergency will remain closed for 36 hours. Along with this, doctors of Chhattisgarh have also announced a 24-hour strike on the call of Indian Medical Association. Earlier, yesterday i.e. on Friday, AIIMS doctors went on strike. OPD was affected due to the doctors’ strike. Faculty Association members said that, we also stand in solidarity with our colleagues from all over the country. We condemn this heinous act. We request the officials to ensure justice by taking immediate action and take necessary steps for the safety of health workers. Due to the doctors’ strike, patients who came from outside for treatment faced trouble. They had to return without getting treatment. During this, emergency services continued where doctors treated the patients. Due to the nationwide protests, OPD services were also closed in the Civil Hospital in Wadrafnagar of Balrampur. The doctors are demanding opening of a police assistance center and security arrangements in the hospital premises, regarding which the doctors have informed the SDM by submitting a memorandum.
