IMD issues yellow alert: Rain and thundershowers likely in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Hyderabad, forecasting rain and thundershowers accompanied by strong winds on Tuesday. The city is expected to have the same weather conditions till June 13, with generally cloudy sky and light to moderate rain or thundershowers likely in all areas including Charminar, Khairatabad, Kukatpally, LB Nagar, Secunderabad and Serilingampally. Areas like Quthbullapur, Kapra, Sheikhpet, ECIL and Dammaiguda received moderate rainfall on Monday night. The temperature on Monday was 33 degrees Celsius, and is expected to remain between 32 degrees Celsius and 33 degrees Celsius in the next 48 hours.
The IMD has also predicted heavy rains in several districts of Telangana till June 13. Heavy rain is likely at isolated places over Adilabad, Nirmal, Rangareddy, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahbubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal districts on Tuesday. Also, thunderstorm accompanied with rain accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) is likely at isolated places over Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Mulugu, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahbubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jango, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahbubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal districts. Residents are advised to stay informed of weather conditions and take necessary precautions during this period of unpredictable weather.
