IMD issues rain warning for next 7 days, know how will be weather in different parts of Odisha including Puri

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday issued orange and yellow warnings while issuing weather alert for Odisha for the next 7 days.

As informed by the weather department, heavy to very heavy rainfall and thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind is expected to occur in parts of the State.

Puri, which is all set to conduct the world famous Rath Yatra tomorrow, is also expected to witness thunderstorm with lightning.

Check details of warning for next seven days:

Day 1 (Valid upto 8.30 AM of June 27):

ORANGE WARNING: Heavy to very heavy rainfall and thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Balangir and Boudh.
YELLOW WARNING: Heavy Rain and Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Nuapada, Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda, Kalahand and, Kandhamal.
Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati.
Day 2 (Valid from 8.30 AM of June 27 to 8.30 AM of June 28):

YELLOW WARNING: Heavy rain and thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph and very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh and Jharsuguda,
Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati.
Day 3 (Valid from 8.30 AM of June 28 to 8.30 AM of June 29):

YELLOW WARNING: Heavy rain very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh , Sambalpur , Jharsuguda and Sundargarh.
Day 4 (Valid from 8.30 AM of June 29 to 8.30 AM of June 30):

YELLOW WARNING: Heavy rain very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Sundargarh.
Day 5 (Valid from 8.30 AM of June 30 to 8.30 AM of July 1):

YELLOW WARNING: Heavy rain very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj , Balasore, Bhadrak, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal and Koraput.
Day 6 (Valid from 8.30 AM of July 1 to 8.30 AM of July 2):

YELLOW WARNING: Heavy rain very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri ,Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Rayagada ,Kandhamal, Ganjam and Gajapati
Day 7 (Valid from 8.30 AM of July 2 to 8.30 AM of July 3):

YELLOW WARNING: Heavy rain very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Balasore, Rayagada, Ganjam and Gajapati.
