Illegal collection and hooliganism in bus stand shows no sign of stopping

Raipur. Common people will get relief from illegal collection and hooliganism in the name of parking fee at the inter-state bus stand of the capital Raipur, soon a police post will be constructed here. While discussing this information with Janta Se Rishta, SSP Dr. Lal Umend Singh said that in view of the continuous complaints of hooliganism at the bus stand, a systematic police post will be constructed soon at the bus stand. Discussion has already been held with the zone commissioner in this regard. The root of the fight in the bus stand is in the name of parking and giving tickets to the passengers, it is worth noting that due to the presence of illegal ticket vendors in the bus stand, they create disputes with the passengers in the name of taking or not taking tickets from them and even beat them up. At the same time, a situation of dispute arises every day with the henchmen of the contractor who drops the passengers and runs the stand. Despite the provision of not charging any fee for parking the vehicle for half an hour at the stand from the drivers who come to drop off passengers, the workers working at the stand extort money from the drivers. In case of a dispute, the goons there beat up the drivers.

The passengers visiting the inter-state bus stand have to face a lot of trouble due to anti-social elements. Incidents like assault and abuse are happening every day, but on Saturday these anti-social elements attacked a passenger from Balodabazar. Such incidents have happened in the bus stand before as well. This includes incidents of robbery along with assault. Anti-social elements also come and go to the bus stand illegally, to control this, arrangements have been made for identity cards for the local employees of the police and transport department. But most of the employees present at the bus stand do not wear identity cards. In such a situation, the police is not able to reach the culprit easily in incidents like misbehavior and assault with the passengers. Actually, on Saturday, a passenger from Balodabazar was leaving the hotel after having food. During this, he had an argument with someone there, after which the passenger was beaten up. The passenger was bleeding continuously from his mouth due to injury in his nose and mouth. During this, the police team that reached the spot sent the passenger to the hospital for first aid. Anti-social elements take advantage of the lack of adequate police there. Recently, SP Dr. Lal Umend Singh had visited the new bus stand and gave strict instructions that no anti-social elements should be seen except the passengers.
