Illegal arms factory busted near Anupgarh

Punjab: Police today claimed to have busted an illegal arms manufacturing factory in Anupgarh area. Superintendent of Police Ramesh Maurya said that three people running an illegal arms manufacturing factory in Chak 18 village and two people carrying illegal arms in a car have been arrested. He said that three illegal country-made pistols and some semi-manufactured pistols have been recovered from their possession. Along with this, weapons making equipment has also been recovered. Investigating officer Vikas Bishnoi said that based on information, a raid was conducted at the house of Balraj Singh in Chak 18 village.

He said that Satpal Nayak, Sukhdev Singh and Ajay Nayak have been arrested with one illegal country-made pistol and two semi-manufactured country-made pistols as well as arms making equipment. Police said that the two people going in a car with two illegal country-made pistols from the factory have been identified as Subhash Nayak, resident of Madhewali Dhani and Sandeep Nayak, resident of Naruwali Dhani. A case has been registered against them under the Arms Act. In separate incidents, Hariram Kumhar and Pradeep Singh of Kikarwali were arrested with 60 kg of poppy husk. Kalu Ram of Prem Nagar and Ajay Kumar of Dhingawali village in Abohar were found with 8 kg of poppy husk, police said. The suspects were caught with the drugs on a motorcycle, they said. A case has been registered against the smugglers under the NDPS Act, police said.
