Durg. In Durg district, a woman strangled her husband to death. It is being told that the woman was ill for the last two-three days. Due to this, the family members had also resorted to tantra-mantra. The Supela police have arrested the accused and sent them to judicial custody.

Supela police station in-charge Durgesh Sharma said that the incident took place on Wednesday late night at Krishna Nagar Bajrang Chowk, Supela Bhilai. They had received information that a woman had killed her husband there. When the police reached the spot, it was found in the investigation that Sangeeta Soni (39 years), living here, had strangled her husband Dilip Soni (45 years) to death with a scarf.

According to the Supela police, the woman was ill for the last three to four days. The family members say that he was possessed by some evil spirit. Due to this, he also got the tantrik to do the exorcism. The woman lived in the house with her husband and a child. On Wednesday late night when everyone was sleeping, the woman got up and made a noose with a dupatta. After this, Dilip Soni was strangled with him.

Dilip Soni lived with his three sons and Patti. His brother also lives next door to him with his family. Dilip’s elder brother Jitendra Soni told that they woke up after hearing the cry of the nephew. They saw Dileep lying dead in the bed, foam coming out of his mouth. After this, they informed the police by calling 112 and took Dileep to the hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead.
