Ingredients for making mango barfi
Mango pieces – 1 cup
Milk – half cup
Grated Coconut – 3 cups
Cardamom powder – 1/4 tsp
Saffron – 1 pinch
Sugar – 1 cup (as per taste)
Mango Burfi Recipe
Mango barfi is a great sweet dish for the summer season. To make mango barfi, first cut the mango and cut its pulp into pieces and keep it in a bowl. Now put mango pieces and half a cup of milk in a blender and blend it. Keep in mind that smooth puree of mango should be ready. A little more milk can be added to make puree as required.
Now put a pan on the gas to heat it. Put mango puree in it and cook on low flame. After some time, add 1 cup of sugar in the puree and keep stirring with a spoon until the sugar dissolves completely in the puree. After this add 3 cups of grated coconut in the puree and cook. Meanwhile, take some lukewarm milk in a small bowl and add saffron threads to it and mix.
Now add milk with saffron thread in a pan and mix it well in the puree. Now cook this mixture for about 10 minutes so that it thickens well. It may take 15-20 minutes for the mixture to get completely ready. When the mixture is cooked well, put cardamom powder in it and turn off the gas.
After this, take a plate/tray and apply some ghee on its bottom. After this, spread the prepared mixture evenly in the tray. After this, keep the mixture to set for half an hour. When the mixture hardens, cut it in the shape of burfi with the help of a knife. Delicious mango barfi is ready. It can be served in food.
