If the DMK alliance is united, victory is certain: Karti Chidambaram

Tamil Nadu: Karti Chidambaram, Lok Sabha member from Sivaganga constituency, said that if the DMK alliance remains united in Tamil Nadu, it will definitely win the upcoming assembly elections.

He told reporters attending the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee meeting held at the Sivaganga District Collector’s office on Wednesday that there was no evidence that Virudhunagar Lok Sabha member Manickam Thakur Bharathiyar had quoted his poems.

Since Tamil Nadu has a total of 234 assembly seats, it is common for all parties in the alliance to want to contest their preferred seats. However, compromises and decisions will have to be made within the alliance.

It is true that when forming an alliance at the Indian level, it would be better to have a coordinator from parties other than the main party.

Anointing state leaders or chief ministers from other parties as coordinators on a rotating basis would increase the alliance’s chances of success.

After the Assembly session concludes, a DMK committee will be formed on the 22nd to discuss and decide which seats the alliance parties will contest.

Although government participation is a priority for all parties, this can only be discussed after the elections are won.

I wholeheartedly welcome the scheme that entitles women to ₹5,000. The central and state governments should discontinue or reduce unnecessary schemes so that people can receive ₹5,000 as a basic monthly income.

The fact that 13.1 million women in Tamil Nadu have received their entitlement directly through their bank accounts is a major achievement. Those who were left out of the eligible category should be given the opportunity to reapply. They should be granted their rights in the future as well. Since women were granted their rights during the elections, this will translate into votes for the DMK alliance.

If the DMK alliance remains united in Tamil Nadu, its victory in the upcoming assembly elections is certain.

Prime Minister Modi, who is visiting Madurai, is reportedly also visiting Thiruparankundram. He stated that he wishes to visit all six houses.
