IBM Gujarat government tie up to set up AI cluster

Business: IBM and the Gujarat government on Saturday signed an agreement to leverage IBM’s ‘WatsonX’ to foster innovation and collaboration among financial aids at the Gujarat International Finance Tech (GIFT) City. Under the partnership, financial aids will get access to guidance sandboxes, support in providing proof of concept, mentoring programmes and digital assistant solutions, according to an online report. The Finance and Technology Department of the Gujarat government today decided to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to properly establish and promote the leverage of IBM’s WatsonX to foster innovation and collaboration among financial aids at the Gujarat International Finance Tech (GIFT) City.

IBM’s ‘WatsonX’ is a YouTube and data platform designed for business. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said, “This MoU with IBM will help Gujarat lead the country in its efforts to promote digital transformation.” According to Sandip Patel, Managing Director, IBM India and South Asia, harnessing competitive advantages to gain competitive advantage through improved productivity, innovation and customer experience is a priority for today’s business. He said, “This is an important step in our continued collaboration with the Government of Gujarat to accelerate the state’s digital transformation. By establishing this positive initiative, I aim to make the city vibrant and provide an opportunity for a growing number of financial institutions to easily create the latest customizable solutions.

As part of this MoU, IBM will provide software technology and platforms on the cloud environment, allowing financial institutions to develop and refine large language-friendly models in a sandbox environment. IBM will also provide a goal-oriented method to build a digital assistant-based solution that will facilitate the incorporation and integration of these modern large language models into financial resources. In line with the company’s walkthrough of skilling 30 million people by 2030 and training 2 million learners by the end of 2026, IBM will develop a guiding curriculum for schools and courses across Gujarat.
