IAS officers in Odisha need Chief Secretary’s permission to go on leave

Bhubaneswar: In what can be considered as a major decision by the Odisha government, it made it mandatory for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers of the State to take permission from the Chief Secretary before going on a leave.

As per a notification issued by the General Administration & Public Grievance (GA&PG) Department, each and every Odisha cadre IAS officer has to take Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja’s permission before taking any leave.

The State government took the big decision today as several officers were found staying on leave or leaving their respective headquarters without any permission due to which the official works were getting affected.
