(IAS Officer Suspended) On February 26, there was a discussion on the pollution in Chandrapur district in the Maharashtra assembly. The assembly asked state Environment Minister Pankaja Munde to respond to this.
Meanwhile, BJP minister Pankaja Munde alleged that the IAS officer, Maharashtra Pollution Control Board Member Secretary M Devender Singh, Joint Director Satish Padwal and other relevant officials did not attend the meetings she had organised to collect key information. She said that despite several reminders, the officer did not respond and sent a message that he would not attend the meeting. She explained to the House that she could not give a detailed briefing due to lack of adequate information. She said that the disobedience of such officials would affect the ability of a minister to answer the people.
On the other hand, Pro-Tem Speaker Dilip Lande took this issue seriously. He described the absence of officials from the ministerial meeting as gross negligence and an insult to the legislature. He ordered the government to take immediate action. In this context, the government has suspended IAS officer Devender Singh and Joint Director Satish Padwal. This has become a topic of discussion among Maharashtra politics and officials.
