Hyderabad: Woman dies after being hit by a car due to careless driving, friend injured

Hyderabad: A young woman was killed and her friend injured in a car accident at Koheda in Abdullapurmet on the outskirts of the city on Thursday night. The incident occurred when the victim, Spandana (19), was riding pillion on her friend Sai Kumar’s scooter when the car went out of control due to rash driving and rammed into their vehicle on a service road.

According to police, both fell off the scooter and Spandana died on the spot while Sai suffered multiple serious injuries. She was rushed to a hospital for treatment. Abdullapurmet police have registered a case and started investigations. They said rash and furious driving by the car driver led to the accident. The driver has been taken into custody.
