Hyderabad: Winter is receding as the days get warmer

Hyderabad: As the year started with unusually warm weather, Hyderabad seems to be losing its winter charm. Day and night temperatures are rising in the city, with minimum temperatures exceeding the seasonal average. On Tuesday, the city recorded a minimum average temperature of 20 degrees Celsius, much better than the normal of 15.3 degrees Celsius for this time of the year. In the last week, the nights started getting warmer and the minimum temperature increased by about two degrees centigrade. According to the Development Planning Society of Telangana State (TSDPS) data, various parts of the city and its suburbs witnessed a rise in minimum temperatures on Tuesday. While Rajendranagar recorded a temperature of 16.4 degrees Celsius, Ramachandrapuram recorded 16.7 degrees Celsius. Additionally, the minimum temperature reached a maximum of 20 degrees Celsius in the areas of Yousufguda, Uppal, Goshamahal, Khairatabad, Mehdipatnam, Falaknuma, Charminar and Amberpet. In contrast to the usual winter chill seen in the city during this period, day temperatures have fallen slightly below normal, settling just one or two degrees below normal. However, night temperatures have been high, making the atmosphere generally warmer. The India Meteorological Department (IMD-H) has predicted only fog during the next five days in the city, indicating continuation of the warm climate pattern. It is likely that this deviation from the expected cold wave will persist not only in the city but also in other districts of the state. It is also estimated that the temperature will remain above normal.
