Hyderabad: Cyberabad police arrested four people who stole gold and cash from a house in Kollur last month. Those arrested include Prabhakar Malik (28), Tapan Das (32), Sachindra Das (48) and Ratikant Das (26), all natives of Odisha. DCP (Madhapur) Dr Vineet ji said that Prabhakar used to work as a domestic worker in Sujatha’s house located in Osmannagar under Kollur Police Commissionerate limits. On December 21, when Sujatha went to Delhi for some work, Prabhakar stole gold jewelery weighing about one kilogram and Rs 6.50 lakh in cash kept in the house. “After collecting the valuable items, Prabhakar came out of the house and introduced them to the remaining three suspects. All of them intended to abandon the jewelery and leave with the money. Due to the complaint, the case was opened and four people were arrested”, the DCP said. Police recovered 963 grams of gold jewelery and diamonds and total assets worth Rs 2,90 lakh from their agency. Police advised people to use a centralized locking system that does not allow delivery people to enter apartments without proper verification and not to leave valuable items at home if they leave the station.
