Hyderabad: Rs 6 crore stolen from jewellery shop
Telangana: Eight employees of a jewellery shop in Hyderabad have been accused of stealing gold bars worth Rs 6 crore. The theft came to light during a recent internal audit conducted by Sri Krishna Jewellers Banjara Hills, following which the management lodged a complaint with the police. According to reports, two employees, Uday Kumar and B Srikanth, are suspected to have played a key role in the theft. Srikanth revealed that Uday Kumar carried out the crime over a long period of time with the assistance of several others. Those involved included Chintu, Satya, Ajay, Tinku and Chandra, who were allegedly acting on the instructions of the store’s manager Sukhetu Shah.
The case was registered following a complaint by the jewellery shop’s HR manager and later transferred to the Hyderabad Central Crime Station (CCS). Moreover, Shruti Shah, wife of accused Sukhetu Shah, had filed a missing person report, stating that her husband had been missing for a month. He revealed that before disappearing, he had mentioned about being harassed over financial matters at work. The accused has reportedly left behind a letter and a video, which have been handed over to the police as evidence.
