Hyderabad: Rare Eurasian Griffon Vulture trapped in Manja

Sangareddy: A rare Euroasian lion vulture, which was not seen in Hyderabad for many years, was found trapped in a small ditch near Saroor Nagar lake on Tuesday.

Aminpur-based Sociedad de Conservation de Guerreros Animals (AWCS), known for rescuing hand-trapped birds in Telangana, received an alert from some people in Saroor Nagar, following which its volunteers reached the spot.

This was the first time that he saw a vulture held in his hand. The bird was rescued and shifted to Parque Zoological Nehru in Hyderabad. He said, the vulture had to face a fierce battle.
