Hyderabad Police Take Key Action in Pushpa 2 Premiere Stampede Case

Hyderabad Police took a key step in the stampede incident that took place at Sandhya Theater in RTC Cross Roads during the premiere of ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ in December 2024. The Chikkadapally Police filed a comprehensive chargesheet of about 100 pages in the Nampally court, naming hero Allu Arjun as the 11th accused (A-11) in this case. The police said that a total of 23 people have been included as accused in this chargesheet. While the Sandhya Theater management is the main accused (A-1), the names of Allu Arjun, his personal manager, staff and 8 bouncers are also included. The police clarified in their report that the stampede took place because it was known that thousands of fans would gather for the premiere of the movie, they came to the theater without proper prior information and without minimum security arrangements. The chargesheet also alleges that failure to control the crowd and careless behavior led to the death of a woman and serious injuries to her son. (A woman named Revathi from Dilsukh Nagar died and her son Sreetej was seriously injured in the stampede that took place on December 4, 2024.)

Allu Arjun is currently out on bail in this case. It is reported that Allu Arjun and the Pushpa film team have already deposited around Rs.2 crore in a fixed deposit to support the victims. However, with the chargesheet being filed, the case is now ready for further legal proceedings.
