Hyderabad: Over 1200 people booked for drunk driving in Cyberabad on New Year’s Eve

Hyderabad: Cyberabad traffic police registered cases against 1241 people for drunk driving on New Year’s Eve on Sunday night. All of them will be presented in the court within the stipulated time after filing the charge sheet. Also, his driving license will be confiscated and sent to the concerned RTA for suspension as per Section 19 of the MV Act, 1988, said Cyberabad Commissioner Avinash Mohanty. A total of 74 teams of traffic police conducted drunk driving tests across Cyberabad. A total of 509 persons had more than 100 mg/100 ml of alcohol in their blood and 33 persons had more than 300 mg and 18 persons had more than 500 mg. Most of the cases were reported in Miyapur, Kukatpally, Madhapur, Gachibowli, Madhapur, Narsingi, Jeedimetla. With extensive enforcement and traffic and road safety plans by the Cyberabad Traffic Police, no major road accidents occurred anywhere in Cyberabad. Mohanty thanked the citizens for their cooperation with the police in ensuring safety on the roads. Drunk driving will continue to be a special focus in Cyberabad to ensure road safety as part of our “Zero Tolerance” policy towards drunk driving.
