Hyderabad: One person arrested for blackmailing girls on social media

Hyderabad: Against cyber crime, the police arrested a man on Wednesday for harassing girls on social networking platforms.

A person named S. Jishnu Keerthan Reddy, a resident of Medchal, created an account on Instagram by posing as a girl.

“During normal browsing on his Instagram account, Keertan befriended a girl and asked her to share his personal photos. Later, using the photographs, he challenged the victim and demanded that he send more photographs”, said K Shilpavalli, DCP Cyber Crime.

Following a complaint by a victim, the police identified Reddy and arrested him. He was put in jail as a precautionary measure. Police warned the public that it will not accept friend requests from unknown persons on social networking platforms.
