Hyderabad: Miss World contestants laud women entrepreneurs of Singareni Seva Samithi

Hyderabad: As part of the Miss World pageant tour, the participants visited Shilparamam on Thursday. Thereafter, they visited the nearby Indira Mahila Shakti Bazaar where they visited the stall of Singareni Seva Samiti run by self-help women entrepreneurs. The participants were delighted to see the bags, purses and handloom textiles displayed at the stall – all prepared by women trained under various Seva Samiti units of different areas of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL).
Interacting with the women entrepreneurs, they enquired about the process behind the handmade products and took selfies with them. The Miss World delegates appreciated the quality and craftsmanship of the items displayed, saying the products were beautifully made. The Seva Samiti women expressed their heartfelt gratitude to SCCL Chairman and Managing Director N Balaram for imparting them training and encouraging their journey towards self-employment. They also thanked Divya Devarajan, CEO of SERP, who not only helped in setting up the stall at a prime location like Hyderabad but also provided accommodation and transport facilities.
