Hyderabad: Man commits suicide after quarrel with wife in Medchal

Hyderabad: A 39-year-old man in Medchal allegedly committed suicide as his wife, who was living separately from him, did not allow him to meet his children. G Shiva Shankar (39), a farmer, was married to Latha from Singayapalli village 10 years ago. However, the couple had frequent quarrels since their marriage and a few years ago the woman left home to live with her parents.

Shankar’s relatives visited Latha at her parents’ house several times and asked her to come back home. But, she did not agree. “On Tuesday, Shankar met his wife and asked her to at least let him meet his children. When she refused to do so, Shankar returned home. He then hanged himself from a fan in the house,” Medchal Sub Inspector Muralidhar said. Police have registered a case and are investigating. The body has been sent to the Gandhi Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
