Hyderabad: Man arrested for raping and impregnating 19-year-old girl
Hyderabad: The Nacharam police have arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly raping and impregnating a 19-year-old girl by falsely promising marriage. Unable to recover from the trauma, the girl committed suicide at her house in Nacharam on July 2. The accused, D Mahender alias Mahesh, a construction worker from Ambedkar Nagar, allegedly lured the girl into his trap by professing love and promising marriage, while concealing the fact that he was already married and had three children.
Mahender sexually abused and threatened the girl at his house, police said. She became pregnant due to this abuse. When she asked him about marriage recently, he refused and allegedly instigated her to take her own life. The Nacharam police registered a case and arrested Mahender following a complaint from the girl’s family. Investigation revealed that he has a criminal history, including drug-related offences and crimes against women. He was produced before a magistrate and sent to judicial custody.
