Hyderabad: Major hygiene violations noted at Subbayya Gari hotel

Hyderabad: Food Safety Commissioner’s teams inspected Subbaiah Gari Hotel, Kondapur, Gachibowli Road, reporting several violations under the Food Safety and Standards Act. The inspection teams reported that the kitchen area was very unhygienic, there was dirt on the floor and the walls were dirty. “Drains were found clogged and overflowing and food waste was not being removed regularly. Food handlers were found dirty without any head caps, gloves etc. and oil was found dripping from the exhaust.
Stoves and utensils were very dirty,” the teams reported. The inspection teams also reported that “vegetables were improperly stored causing them to dry out and the store room was found in a pathetic condition and not properly maintained. There were reports related to water quality analysis, pest control, medical fitness certificate not being available with the food handlers,” the teams said. The oil used was not checked for TPC formation and the samples collected have been collected for laboratory analysis.
