Hyderabad: Life imprisonment to four in Pinky murder case

Hyderabad: A local tribunal in Kukatpally on Friday sentenced four people to life imprisonment in the brutal case of murder of pregnant woman Pinky alias Shalini alias Bingi in Gachibowli in 2018.

The convicted sons Mamta Jah, Vikas Jah alias Kashyap, Amarkant Jah and Anil Jah are natives of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. The victim, Shalini (32), originally from Bihar, was first married to Dinesh from Uttar Pradesh and had children. Vikas, who was a resident of the same village, had had the audacity with the victim.

With Shalini, Dinesh moved from Uttar Pradesh to Bihar, where he developed another illicit relationship with Mamta and then moved to Hyderabad. After continuous conversation between them on this issue, Vikas conspired to murder her.

In January 2018, Mamta and Vikas argue with Shalini before throwing her against the wall. Shalini, who was eight months pregnant, fell to the ground and was punched and crushed to death by the suspects. Then they bought a marble cutting machine and cut his body into pieces, wrapped them in polythene bags, measured them in jute bags and kept them near Shri Ram Nagar Colony.

Gachibowli police initially registered a case of murder of an unidentified woman and identified the victim. The suspects were arrested fifteen days later. Scientific analysis was conducted and 81 physical objects were recovered that were directly related to the case. During the trial, the tribunal examined 65 witnesses.

Four persons who were imprisoned as prisoners during the last six years were also detained on the basis of preventive detention law. Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty appreciated the efforts of the officer and the investigation team in achieving conviction in the case.
