Hyderabad: Food safety officials raid DLF

Hyderabad: The Task force team of the Commissioner of Food Safety conducted inspections at the DLF area on Friday and detected food safety violations in several food joints. The team raided Milan Juice Centre, Sip and Snack, Bismi Maggi and Juice Centre, DLF, Gachibowli.
The inspections at Milan Juice Centre found unlabeled and uncovered food articles in the refrigerator. The task force team reported that food waste was littered on the floor, and dustbins were left open in the kitchen area. It also found housefly and live cockroach infestation in the juice centre. Food handlers were not wearing gloves and aprons while preparing the food.
The teams discarded spoilt fruits like apples, black grapes, mangoes and peeled pomegranates. Other food articles, like chutney, were also disposed of as it was found to be infested with cockroaches, and expired items, including Banana Crush (21.02.2025), Strawberry Flavour Syrup (17.03.2025) and Passion Fruit Syrup (31.01.2025), were found and discarded, said the food safety team on X.
At Sip and Snack, Gachibowli, the team has found uncovered food items in the refrigerator. Fruits like chikoo (sapotas) and oranges were found to be spoilt and were discarded. The kitchen area was found to be littered with food waste, and the dustbin was left open. A housefly infestation was observed in the kitchen. The task force team reported that the FSSAI license of the juice point was also not available with the FBO.
At Bismi Maggi and Juice Centre, the team reported uncovered food items in the fridge and fruits like peeled pomegranates were found spoilt. The task force team has discarded them. Dustbins were found uncovered, and rodents, houseflies and cockroach infestation were observed during the inspection. Employees were found without headgear and aprons, reported the task force team.
