Hyderabad: Five people including cousin arrested for kidnapping of technical expert

Hyderabad: Cyberabad police arrested five members of a gang who had allegedly kidnapped a Raidurgam software engineer and sought to rescue his family.

Those arrested include Gunjapogu Suresh alias Surya (31) and Gurram Nikhita (23), natives of Guntur, B Venkat Krishna (28), native of Krishna district, Ramgila Raju (20) and Shinde Rohit (19) of Mehdipatnam. . The two are running away from Chandul and Venkat.

According to the police, Suresh, involved in 22 criminal cases including kidnapping, robbery and murder, was planning to earn a lot of money by kidnapping a rich man. Krishna and his girlfriend discuss the plan together with Nikhita, who suggests kidnapping Suresh first as he had recently bought a house and had money.

As a result, Suresh and others attempted to kidnap Surendra on a few occasions, but failed. Then Suresh asked Nikhita for help and asked her to call Surendra to a secluded place. “To the woman’s surprise, she came near Khajaguda lake to discuss some personal matter and from there the gang kidnapped her. Then, Nikhita went to the commissionerate and lodged a complaint that Surendra had been kidnapped. This helped the family and the police”, said DCP (Madhapur) T Srinivas Rao.

Meanwhile, Suresh called the victim’s family and demanded a ransom of Rs 20 lakh for his release. “Special teams of police found the victim at Kadatal in Rangareddy district and put them in touch with the local police. Police initiated containment in the area and when they saw, Suresh and his associates abandoned the victim and she died”, the officer said.

Later, the police found Suresh and took him to the city. During interrogation, documents of Nikhita and other people came to light.
