Hyderabad: Famous DJ arrested in drug case
Hyderabad: Madhapur police in collaboration with Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGANB) have arrested a famous disco jockey in a drug case, officials said on Monday. Based on intelligence inputs, the investigators were closely monitoring the DJ’s movements. He would often visit pubs in Madhapur and Gachibowli after consuming drugs. The people he used to meet were also being monitored. Based on ground intelligence, they called 16 people who are involved in drugs and visit pubs. They were tested for drug consumption and cocaine and ganja consumption was confirmed in two people, including the DJ. They were taken into custody and a case was registered against them in Madhapur.
Senior officials of TGNAB have urged the general public to stay away from drug suppliers as they are under police surveillance. “We are also working hard to fight the drug menace in top educational institutions and schools,” said TGNAB officials. Anti-drug committees (ADCs) in schools and colleges should inform the local police or TGNAB if they suspect any drug. If they are not able to collect information they should appoint retired police officers. TGNAB appeals to the public to report any information on drug dealing to TGNAB control room number 87126 71111.
