Hyderabad court, for the first time, sentences man to death for murder of wife

Hyderabad: In a first of its kind, a local tribunal in the city on Friday condemned a man to death in a case of murder and assault of his wife over dowry in Bhavaninagar in 2019. The tribunal also imposed a fine. Of Rs 10,000.

The convict Imran Ul Haq (38) is an automobile driver from Aman Nagar in Talabkatta, Bhawaninagar.

In January 2019, Imran, who was harassing his wife Naseem Akhtar (35) for demanding extra dowry, brutally attacked her with arrows and a pistol at various places on her body, leading to her death.

Bhawani Nagar police registered a case of murder and murderous assault and arrested Imran.
