Hyderabad: BRO will soon launch 11 new courses

Hyderabad: Students and unemployed youth preparing for various recruitment competitions can now study the history and culture of the state remotely. For the first time in any state university, Dr. BR Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) is planning to introduce a new Diploma PG in History and Culture of Telangana from the next academic year. Although the history and culture of Telangana is essential for any competitive exam, there is a dearth of books providing authentic information on the subject. With BRAOU creating content involving experts in History, the new Diploma PG will be useful for candidates preparing for various competitive recruitment examinations at the state level. The university is also planning to start seven other PG diploma programs which include disaster management, general legal awareness, training of preschool teachers, digital library and information management. In addition to the Master in International Relations, another new Master’s program in Planning and Urban Development is also being created. It will soon launch a certification program in presenting, dubbing and speaking for those wishing to pursue a career in media, screen or cinema. “The university is planning to start 11 new courses from the next academic year,” the professor said. K.Sitaram Rao, Vice-Rector Dr. Bro. In another important measure, the university will shift from de facto annual mode to semester mode for all PG programs offered in English and Telugu from the next academic year.
