Telangana: Hyderabad is currently facing a blood shortage due to the rising viral infection, which has led to a surge in the demand for blood transfusions. Blood banks are struggling to maintain adequate supplies as donations have dropped significantly due to the rising cases. Authorities are encouraging citizens to donate blood and conducting awareness drives to encourage community participation in meeting this critical need.
Dr Amin Rupani stressed that now is the right time to donate blood as people are suffering from dengue fever, chikungunya fever and other serious diseases caused by the virus. He gave this message during a blood donation drive organised by Ismaili Civic in collaboration with Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust on the occasion of World Ismaili Civic Day and World Heart Day. More than 250 people visited the camp. Siva informed that blood donation reduces the risk of cancer, heart disease and cholesterol levels.
