Hyderabad: BJP asks Telangana government to order CBI probe into Kaleshwaram case

Hyderabad: The state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has demanded a CBI inquiry into the alleged irregularities in the implementation of the Kaleshwaram project by the state government. Saying that a judicial inquiry would take a lot of time, BJP national vice president DK Aruna said that if the Congress government is committed, it should order a CBI inquiry. “Congress is willing to have a probe by a judge, but it will take a lot of time,” Aruna said here on Sunday. While in opposition, Congress had created a lot of trouble regarding Kaleshwaram. But after coming to power, they did not take any action against the previous BRS government, he said. The BJP national vice president also demanded the Congress government to cancel the orders of the previous BRS government to stop the entry of CBI in the state. Strict action should be taken against all those who embezzled public funds, he said, alleging that the main factor behind the investigation into the bomb house at Madigadda was faulty design. The welfare and development of Telangana can be achieved only when the state and the government union work in coordination, he said, adding that all funds given to the state by the government union will definitely be sanctioned.
