Husband used to threaten to divorce her: Bhubaneswar DCP on Madhumita Parida Death Case

Bhubaneswar: In a presser by the Bhubaneswar DCP on Madhumita Parida death case, the senior officer said that the woman used to be threatened by her husband that he will file a divorce against her. The DCP further said that, there was marital discord between them on a regular basis due to which the lady journalist was mentally disturbed.

The DCP also threw light on the fact that the second marriage of the man was yet to be proved. The police shall confirm the same after proper investigation. The phone records of both Madhumita and her husband shall be checked in detail. Everyone related to the case of Madhumita Parida’s death shall be questioned.

The Bhubaneswar DCP on Madhumita Parida death case said her husband used to fight regularly and that she had lodged a complaint with the Dhauli Police Station on July 23 that her husband used to ignore her. However of she complained to him he used to threaten to divorce her. She had allegedly further found from his phone that her husband was taking to other women in a romantic manner. The mother of the woman however stepped in and took her home.

The DCP further said that, Dhauli police has arrested the husband of the deceased Bhubaneswar-based journalist and that a UD (Unnatural Death) case has been registered in this regard by the GRP.

It is worth mentioning here that at around 9 pm on July 24 the body of the woman was recovered in a dismembered state from the railway tracks below the Mausima flyover. The police suspects that the woman has allegedly taken her own life. The DCP in this matter said that the nearby CCTV footage shall be collected to see how and when the woman jumped off the bridge. The mother of Madhumita has however said that her daughter has been killed and pushed down the bridge. The Dhauli police is investigating into the matter and further detailed reports are awaited.
