Husband and brother-in-law together raped woman and minor daughter
Kharar: A heart-wrenching news has come from a village in Patiala district, where a woman and her minor daughter were raped by her husband and his brother-in-law against their will. The CITY police station has registered a zero case against the victim woman’s husband Baljit Singh and brother-in-law Gurvinder Singh, who were found guilty in this case. The victim, in her complaint to the District Police Chief, Mohali, said that she had a second marriage with Baljit Singh in October last year. She has a daughter from her first marriage who is still a minor. After marrying Baljit Singh, he, along with other members of his family, started harassing her on one pretext or the other. Accused Baljit Singh also did obscene acts with her daughter.
The woman told that on the complaint of her daughter, a case was registered against her husband Baljit Singh in May 2023 in Police Station Sadar Kharar under Section 354 and 10 POCSO Act and accused Baljit Singh also remained in jail. Meanwhile, Baljit’s family lured his daughter to their house and held her hostage as part of a conspiracy and started threatening to kill her. Meanwhile, she was blackmailed to get Baljit Singh released from jail. Fearing the threats, she withdrew the case from the court and got the accused released from jail. After this, with the consent of the family, the complainant married the accused Baljit. The main reason was that her in-laws did not want her to file any complaint against them in future. Eventually, after some time of marriage, her in-laws forced her to have physical relations with her brother-in-law Gurvinder Singh. Threatening to kill her daughter, her husband and brother-in-law raped her several times in front of her daughter.
Fed up with their heinous act, whenever she tried to raise her voice, they started beating her and threatened to kill her, not only for her expenses but also did not pay her daughter’s school fees. He threatened to kill her for every reason and threatened to file a false case if she went to the police in any case. The complainant said that meanwhile her husband demanded Rs 20 lakh from her first husband to get her daughter’s share. In this regard, the woman’s first husband also lodged a police complaint against her current husband Baljit Singh. The woman said that one day her daughter’s classmate called her and told her that her daughter was also crying in the school washroom.
On talking to her, it was revealed that her husband and brother-in-law physically molest her daughter and often try to do wrong things with her on the way on the pretext of going for a ride in the car. Fed up with all these situations, she ran away from home and went to the concerned police station to lodge a complaint against her husband, but no action was taken. After this, while living in Kharar, she lodged a complaint with the Mohali Police against the accused in April this year. After investigation, the city police registered a case against two accused Baljeet Singh and Gurwinder Singh under sections 376 and POCSO Act and sent the case to the concerned police station in Patiala.
