Huge resentment among Gumti traders, raised slogans against the administration
Sitapur. Gumti traders, who have been doing business for decades by planting gumti near Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk in Chhattisgarh’s Sitapur district, to earn their livelihood, got agitated over the eviction action of the administration. In fact, the angry Gumti traders protested fiercely against the government staff who had come to take eviction action. During this, angry traders shouted slogans against the eviction, took out a rally and laid siege to the Nagar Panchayat. Seeing the opposition of Gumti traders, the administration has stopped the eviction process while giving them time.
Tell that, for decades near Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk, the heart of the city, the residents of the city have been doing business by putting up gumtis. For years, this is the only means of earning the livelihood of the businessmen, through which they have been taking care of themselves and their families. In such a situation, their livelihood is in danger due to the eviction action of the administration.
