Housing construction increased in Canada in April

World World: The rate of new housing construction in Canada in April 2025 increased by nearly 30% compared to the previous month. This figure was much higher than analysts’ expectations.

According to the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), the annual housing construction rate on a seasonally adjusted basis increased to 2,78,606 units, while this figure was revised to 2,14,205 units in March. Experts had estimated this number to be around 2,27,500 in April.

According to the data, this increase indicates possible strength in the housing sector and a boom in construction activity.
