Hoshiarpur: Case filed against 3 for attacking a handicapped youth

Hoshiarpur: Police have registered a case against three people for breaking into the house of a mentally challenged youth belonging to the Scheduled Caste and assaulting him. The victim’s father has alleged that the accused stripped his son naked, tied him up and beat him up. A few days ago, they had also given him electric shocks. Police have registered a case on the complaint of Surjit Singh of village Babak.

Surjit said that his son Kamaldeep Singh is mentally challenged. Last night, Harmandeep Singh, Maninder Singh and Jasvir Singh alias Ghoda of the village knocked on the door of his house. As soon as he opened the door, the accused hit his son Kamaldeep on the head with an iron rod. The accused beat him up and abused him. The complainant has alleged that on August 6 also, Kamaljit was forced to work, but when he refused, the accused tied him up in their house, stripped him naked and gave him electric shocks. Police have registered a case.
