Horrific accident on Gorakhpur Link Expressway; 4 passengers killed in collision between bus and trailer.

Ambedkarnagar. A massive road accident took place on Gorakhpur Link Expressway in Ambedkar Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh in the early hours of Friday. An AC bus going from Delhi to Darbhanga in Bihar collided with a trailer while overtaking. The accident happened near Amberpur toll plaza. The collision was so severe that the left side of the approximately 40 feet long bus was badly damaged. Four passengers on the bus died in the accident, while three people were seriously injured.

According to the information, the AC bus was going towards Darbhanga carrying passengers from Delhi. When the bus reached near Amberpur toll plaza on Gorakhpur Link Expressway in the early hours of Friday, an attempt was made to overtake a trailer moving ahead. During this time the bus collided with the trailer. Due to the high speed, the collision was quite severe and the left side of the bus was completely damaged.

After the accident, there was an outcry among the passengers traveling in the bus. Many passengers were thrown from their seats due to the sudden force of the collision. Due to damage to a part of the bus, there was difficulty in evacuating the passengers sitting inside. After the accident, there was an atmosphere of chaos on the expressway for some time.

As soon as information about the accident was received, Jaitpur police station reached the spot. The police immediately started relief and rescue operations. With the help of locally available resources, the passengers trapped in the bus were rescued. Seriously injured passengers were sent to the hospital by ambulance.

Four passengers died in the accident. The condition of three passengers is said to be critical. All the deceased and injured are said to be residents of Bihar. The police started the process of gathering information regarding the deceased and informing their families. The injured have been admitted to the district hospital and Nagpur Community Health Centre, where they are undergoing treatment.

The intensity of the collision can be gauged from the fact that the left side of the approximately 40 feet long bus was badly damaged. After the accident, many items inside the bus also got scattered here and there. The passengers were in great panic after the accident. The passengers who were safe were also taken out of the bus with the help of police and rescue teams.

Due to the accident, traffic on the expressway was also affected for some time. Vehicular movement slowed down as the crashed bus and trailer were standing on the road. The police took control of the vehicles on the spot and started the process of removing the accident vehicles.

It is being told that the bus was traveling a long distance from Delhi to Darbhanga. Most of the passengers were residents of Bihar and were heading towards their destination. Vehicles move at high speed on the expressway during night and early morning hours. During this time, this accident happened while trying to overtake.
