Honda quietly launched a new electric SUV

Business Business : Honda Cars has quietly expanded its portfolio of electric four-wheelers. Here the company introduced the new Ye S7 EV SUV. The electric SUV is part of the Japanese brand’s new Ye-BEV lineup, which also includes the GT concept sedan as well as the P7 and S7 SUVs. The Ye S7 was first shown at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show. It was then shown on the website of China’s MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology). However, the official details are now known.

Talking about the design of the new Honda Ye S7 EV SUV, this electric SUV has a distinctive front fascia with full-width LED daytime running lights and Y-shaped LED headlights. On the side, instead of conventional mirrors, you can see flush door handles and camera-based ORVMs. Aero-efficient wheels are also included. At the rear, there are vertical LED elements that are connected to the full-width LED daytime running lights, forming an H-tax shape.

Talking about the interior of this Honda SUV, the cabin has a large vertically mounted infotainment system and a small driver display with a multi-level dashboard layout. Features like electronic parking brake, large dual sunroof, ambient lighting and more are clearly visible.

The S7 is expected to be based on a fully electric platform. It can be launched with two battery pack options. These include a single-engine rear-wheel drive unit producing 268 hp. and a twin-motor unit with all-wheel drive producing 469 hp. However, the battery and range have not been revealed yet. The company will use CATL ternary lithium battery in it. The published report states that a range of more than 500 km is possible on a single charge.

Dimensions of Honda Ye S7 EV: Now if we talk about the dimensions of the car, then the length of the Honda Ye S7 electric SUV is 4750 mm, width 1930 mm and height 1625 mm. The wheelbase is 2,930 mm. The dimensions of this car clearly compete with the Tesla Model Y and Ford Mustang Mach-E in the Chinese market. The company will produce it through its joint venture Honda Dongfeng. At the same time, this SUV will appear in the Chinese market this year.
