Holi 2025: Governors and Chief Ministers join celebrations across Northeast India

Tripura: The festival of colors was celebrated with enthusiasm across the Northeast region on Wednesday, with governors and chief ministers joining community celebrations and extending greetings to the people of their respective states.
In Arunachal Pradesh, Governor Lieutenant General K.T. Parnaik (Retd.) celebrated Holi with representatives of the Brahma Kumaris at Lok Bhavan in Itanagar.
During the interaction, the governor praised the spiritual organization’s commitment to promoting peace, harmony, and moral values and urged its members to continue spreading positivity in communities across the state.
He said, “Holi, the colorful festival of colors, reminds everyone to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, forgive differences, and renew commitment to the common good,” and expressed hope that the occasion would inspire citizens to spread peace and tranquility.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu also extended greetings on the occasion, saying that Holi reminds us that despite different cultures, languages, and traditions, people are bound by shared values of love and togetherness.
In Tripura, Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu celebrated Holi with staff, children, officials, and employees at the Raj Bhavan in Agartala.
Chief Minister Manik Saha extended heartfelt greetings on the occasion of Dol Purnima and Holi and expressed hope that these festivals would bring joy, harmony, and peace of mind to every home. He also expressed hope that these festivals would further strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, love, and goodwill.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma greeted the people of the state on the occasion and participated in the Holi and Dol celebrations at the historic Barpeta session.
The festival was also celebrated in most other Northeastern states, with people from different communities participating in the celebrations.
